| You are limited when waterfowl hunting it is illegal to use a single shot and the max is 3 shots you can use. I do not see a real big deal using a semi-auto because if you have used your 2 shots and then have to use the 3rd shot you probably will miss anyway. I think the 3rd is mostly used to finish the animal off .So I am for it........My view _________________ 10 guage Browning Gold Light,12 guage Winchester SuperX2, 20 guage Stoeger Coachgun, 12 guage Stoegar Outback, .22 cal Savage, .50 cal Winchester X-150, Savage .300 win mag |

| If you get the birds really down close in your decoys, then you can take 3 for 3 no prob with a semi (especially geese - they are slow and they are huge targets) - I may have managed that once or twice with a pump, but I am admittedly not a smoothe shooter wth a stroke-pole anyway.
I agree with Terry though, that more often than not, the third shot is used on a cripple or wasted sky-busting. I have been considering picking up a nice hunting over/under for a long time. I guess it comes down to how badly you want to get that 3rd shot away - my biggest thrill out of waterfowl hunting is calling them in, so I don't mind only using 2 shots instead of 3.
I can say this - the manufacturers love that most waterfowlers have bought into the "semi is the way to go" farce... |

| well i used to use the pump action and was pretty good with it but since i went semi i wont go back!!! some days i can get surgical with this b&%$/!!!!llol personaly the third shot helps alot especialy when hunting geese!! unless your terry and you scalp the geese with each shot!!!
p.s. when your in a duck blind with two or three guys , any idea of stroking a pole is just down right wrong in my book!!! |

| For ducks, I can see limiting myself to 2 shots. But for geese, it's easy to get in 3 successfull shots.
The main reason why I would not bring my double guns waterfowl hunting is because they are too nice. I have a very ugly, very durable Benelli SuperNova for my waterfowl needs. |

Bad news for you, Buck - there is no such thing as an "UPGRADE" from an Auto-5...it is the best semi ever produced. |

| I like to use my citori over under for ducks but I prefer my semi for geese...always handy to have that third shot |
